What does this workshop cover?

This five-day seminar introduces attendees to the C and C++ languages. Emphasis is placed on understanding the overall concepts of object-oriented programming and how object-oriented programs are implemented in C++. Many examples are given from the banking industry and from software user interface components so that students can relate these new concepts to their experience. Better retention is achieved by reinforcing these examples with exercises directly related to these subject areas.

This highly targeted course brings the Non-C developer quickly and comfortably into a solid understanding of the overall features of the C and C++ languages and the benefits of object-oriented programming. The lab content of this course is approximately 35%.

The C and C++ languages are two very important languages in widespread use today. Object-Oriented programming has clearly been accepted by the software industry because of the following benefits it provides:

• Encapsulate data using the class construct and member functions.
• Implement inheritance in C++.
• Use virtual functions and virtual destructors to implement polymorphism.
